Odyssey Works Program Manager

Odyssey Works seeks a part-time Program Manager will administrate our courses and workshops, interfacing directly with students, guest artists, and clients as we grow our offerings across education, design, and consulting. 

We seek someone with exceptional organizational skills, impeccable attention to detail, and poised presence. The Program Manager will primarily support the operations of the Experience Design Certificate Program, and manage communication with students regarding enrollment, travel arrangements, and questions. They will also work closely with program directors and teachers to make arrangements for all in-person events, including travel, housing, teaching facilities, meals, and insurance, for the EDCP kickoff weekend retreat (February), The New Frame final exhibition and EDCP graduation weekend (November), the Family Reunion (summer), Master Class (summer), and weekend intensives. They will also assist with outreach for all of Odyssey Works’ programs and be responsible for managing contracts with students, some light bookkeeping, and scheduling. 

The ideal candidate would have a strong aesthetic sensibility and be able to design dynamic promotional material, including visual assets to promote programs and events on social media throughout the year in line with the Odyssey Works and EDCP Design Guides. Comfort with Canva, Figma, InDesign, or Photoshop are desired. Capacity to substitute teach is a plus. 

This position will begin with an initial trial period of six months from July-December, with opportunity for renewal and growing responsibilities. For the initial period, we will offer a retainer of $1000/month for one flexible 8 hour day/week of support, with possibility for the Manager to invoice for any hours beyond 32 hours in a month at a rate of $30/hr. The Program Manager is a remote position and can work around their own schedule, so long as they maintain a timely and responsive relationship with directors, teachers, clients, and students. If performance is satisfactory, the contract will renew for a full year in 2025. The Program Manager role is a role with growth potential. 


Odyssey Works has been pioneering the field of experience design for nearly 25 years, with three books, a one-of-a-kind school and portfolio of educational offerings, and keynote lectures delivered around the globe. The company began as a collaborative performance group in 2001, designing experiences for one person audiences that have been covered by the New York Times, NPR, Newsweek, Fast Company, and more. Since 2016, we have offered workshops, lectures, corporate training, and design and consulting services. In 2022, we established the Experience Design Certificate Program, a year-long, low-residency MFA alternative.
